The Grizzlies closed out a 3 game West Coast trip with 2 games over the weekend. With only 5 games left in the regular season, Memphis is still in a tight race for the 3rd spot in the Western Conference.
Friday @ LA Lakers- This really was a great game. It was back and forth the entire 48 minutes. Unfortunately it ended with this....
Sunday @ Sacramento
I spent most of my morning trying to find a good gif of Marc Gasol’s game sealing block on Marcus Thornton but this will have to do.
Grizzlies Tweet of the Weekend Not From @HydeParkSwag
This tweet was in response to some hack media member tweeting that the Grizzlies don’t have any options down the stretch now that Rudy’s gone.
By my quick count, Griz went 4-7 in games decided by 5 points or less or in OT before the trade and are now 5-1 in those games post-trade.— Chris Herrington (@FlyerGrizBlog) April 6, 2013
Grizzlies Article of the Weekend
Steve Dazinger of 3 Shades of Blue has an excellent post up on the impact of Jerryd Bayless.
Zach Randolph actually had a quick interview with the Times of India.

Tony Allen Played 18 minutes against the Lakers on Friday. The best perimeter defender in the NBA played 18 minutes in a 2 point loss.
A Look at the Standings
After this weekend’s games, the Grizzlies are a game behind Denver for the 3rd spot but remain a full game up on the Clippers for home court advantage. The Nuggets play the Spurs and the Clippers take on the T-Wolves on Wednesday. Both are home games.
The Week Ahead
Tuesday v. Charlotte- I’m trying to come up with any way to make this game compelling but it just isn’t. Kemba Walker is pretty good I guess. Josh McRoberts has been playing pretty well also. Charlotte is god awful but the Grizz have to take them seriously. They have beaten the Celtics twice. Memphis only won their previous matchup this season by 7 because they fell asleep in the 4th quarter. Adopt the Josh Pastner “everyone’s good” mantra, beat the hell out of this glorified D-League team, and take a nice break until Friday.
-GrizzNation has spread east. I got a text from a friend of mine in Knoxville on Friday who was out at a local bar. There was a 40 person watch party at Cool Beans right of the University of Tennessee campus. Glad to see the rest of the state is getting on board.
-Darrell Arthur and Jerryd Bayless both sat out Sunday’s game against the Kings due to various injuries. None are serious. They are both listed as day-to-day and are expected to play Tuesday.
